"America Supports You Freedom Walk - September 2008"
Celebrate Freedom...and Remember 9/11!!
The first walk was held in 2005 when Pentagon employees sought a way to honor the victims of the Pentagon attack, pay tribute to the responders and those who serve. Last year 255 communities participated, and every state was represented, along with eight nations overseas.
Join in this tradition by participating in or organizing a walk in your community. The America Supports You Freedom Walk web site has information about the walk, how to plan a walk and where walks are being held in your state.

Outward Bound Wilderness - Veterans Expeditions
2008 schedule includes: Colorado, Maine, Texas and California
Adventure and challenge, solitude, reflection, and renewal, the Wilderness has always symbolized a new beginning – a place for discovery and fulfilling adventure. The Outward Bound program for Veterans provides an opportunity for camaraderie and has proven to be a powerful tool in helping veterans readjust after leaving the combat zone.
These five-day excursions offer adventure activities such as
backpacking, rock climbing, canyoneering, canoeing, and dog sledding in beautiful wilderness areas in Maine, Texas, Colorado, California, and Minnesota.
Scheduled courses from Sep 08-Feb 09 and future courses will be scheduled soon. All expedition costs for lodging, equipment, food, and instruction are completely funded by a multi-million dollar Sierra Club grant, including the participants' round-trip transportation between home and the wilderness site. The excursion is offered at no cost to the participant.
